Looks can be deceptive

There are times like above where the way they stand next to each other there is still a significant size difference. Solar is now 25 months old, Ocean is 7 months.

Moments later they swapped sides and the photo below shows much less difference

They continue to check and test the boundaries with each other, which we expect for some time to come, the play is a little more boisterous and meaning at times. They used to have a "time out" rule between them, where if things got too much for either, they would jump in the paddling pool as a place of sanctuary, but sometimes now they is no guarantee.

Ocean not only gets a great playmate in Solar, the play skills dogs have as puppies get more honed.

Play has been toned down for the last couple of weeks as Ocean was diagnosed with a crackly wrist on his front left leg, after some enforced rest and painkillers he has since returned to normal. We believe it was down to a growth spurt, which see him put on 6kg in 5 weeks.

The extra weight is probably a result of the hot temperatures we have had now since May 2018; Both Solar and Ocean have had reduced exercise for fear of overheating.

The character of each is completely different, Solar is forever alert and watchful, sparked off by the TV, birds landing in the garden, passing cars etc; Ocean loves companionship and rest, if Solar is alerted Ocean will investigate, sometimes supporting Solar, but also sometimes having a go at Solar to calm or distract him.
