Feeding

Solar and Ocean are both raw fed;

The breeder put it to us to continue raw feeding, we did some research and found that it was worth a try.

We have seen the benefits, we have seen some challenges, taking all things into account our belief is that on balance there are more positives than negatives.

Their main staple diet is purchased from Natural Instinct in frozen packets, they have their own dedicated freezer, along with their own mini fridge for defrosting.

Raw fed dogs are not always a Vet favourite, so for us along with beliefs around vaccinations has encountered some resistance.

They eat many varieties of food treats including some not always well known.

There is no sponsorship with any products, just an honest opinion of how Solar and Ocean take to their food / treats, along with description and how it is woofed down or nibbled gingerly. They rarely walk away from food.

There will be two categories; Main meals and treat/snacks built up here.

Main meal

  • Natural Instinct; Solar eats Adult; Ocean eats puppy; Both are fed three times a day, we still feed them separate bowls, only when they are both finished are they allowed to check if any is left in each others bowl. Normally both bowls are left clean bright and empty

Treats / snacks

  • Carrots

Tasty treat given raw, helps focus and de-stressing while we sit to have our meals

  • Beef pipe

  • Pizzles
The male part of a bull, very very popular with them both

  • Pigs Ears
A crunchy snack treat is normally devoured in minutes

  • Pupichinos
Home made by Sue, a tasty frozen treat for those hot summer days; Natural yogurt, banana, peanut butter topped with either a gravy bone or similar crunchy treat.
